Have you ever gone to a new hotel and spend 10 minutes trying to figure out how to turn on the shower?
Another lovely hotel to try out in New York – Andaz 5th Avenue. Not as funky as the W at Times Square but still a cool urban style of hotel.
It has the most gorgeous walk in shower with an overhead shower head about 10 feet above, a hand held shower unit at my height and finally a funky tap at knee level. There are only 2 knobs to turn – how difficult can that be? Aahh …. pretty hard I realised when it is 11.30pm in New York and my sleep deprived brain thinks it is 4.30am.
The water kept coming out of the tap at knee level and not from either of the other 2 shower heads. As I stood there contemplating going to bed with extremely clean feet but smelly elsewhere or to try contorting like a yoga master to have a shower at knee high, my last attempt with a knob had yielded a splutter of water from the overhead shower.
Yes, the shower was absolutely divine!
