Gyoza Dipping Sauce

Gyoza Dipping Sauce RecipeI love gyozas and this dipping sauce is just perfect for dipping your gyozas into. Put the extra unused sauce in a glass jar and it will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks.

I buy the frozen gyozas from the Chinese supermarket. To cook them, heat up a frying pan that has a lid and add a tablespoon of oil. coat the bottom of the pan evenly with the oil by swivelling the oil in the pan. Put the frozen gyozas in the pan to brown 2 or 3 sides. Once you are happy with the browning, add a splash of water to the pan and cover the pan with the lid. Turn down the heat and let it simmer/steam for 3 minutes. Remove and serve with the dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried chilli
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons spring onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a jar. Serve with gyozas as a dipping sauce.
