One of my “50 things to do when I am 50” was to be a published author. As with life in general, the ambition dropped by the wayside when more exciting events came along. Until 29 June 2020.
Silver Linings is a collection of happy inspiring stories from people around the world, sharing personal reflections and amazing stories that have come out of lockdown. Tom and I co-authored the story of our engagement in April on Tom’s 60th birthday. We each wrote our version of the events leading to that momentous day. I love Tom’s version – his prose conveys much detail in few words.
So how did we get to be part of this project? It was similar as to how we got into The Times on their Marriage & Engagement feature at the end of April.
- Friends who were excited to share the story and introduce us to connections, and
- Saying “Yes” to new experiences or opportunities
Writing this story had reminded me how much I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper. I had started this blog because I wanted to make a record of the events in my family’s life and I had been too busy over the last few years to maintain it. And now I am inspired to start again.
This book is out on Kindle now and the paperback will be released shortly.
Profits will go to the Cavell Nurses Trust.
