We had a great afternoon visiting the infamous Bran Castle of the Dracula notoriety. The entrance leading up to the grounds of the castle was busy with many souvenir shops selling all things related to Dracula.
As with all castles, it is nestled on the side of a hill and in this instance the path leading up to the actual castle was incredibly steep. We had a good work-out walking up – it certainly felt like someone had cranked up the gym running machine to a 30 degree incline!!!
Walking down later was definitely much easier…
The castle had some really interesting exhibits on its history dating back to Roman times and also on the superstitions that existed in that area that have given rise to the stories of vampires.
David, being the blood thirsty little monster, wanted to visit the torture chamber. To all our relief, he was not allowed in as he is under 18. The day was way too nice to even consider such atrocities.
So we ended in the House of Horror and David had his fright after all. I wonder if he will sleep well tonight.
